I had to wash by hand at PV so I brought almost everything to get a good wash today. Luckily a nice male customer showed me the ropes. Every place is different. I was going to get here a little earlier but the very flaky wifi at the Abbaye was working so I stayed to back up my pictures even though I had to re-login every 5 minutes. C'est la vie!
Now I find that I have a (cross my fingers) good connection here at the laundromat from the Hotel Ibis next door.
I had a nice dinner up at La Cite last night on the terrace overlooking Chateau Comtal at restaurant Adelaide recommended by "my good friend" Rick Steves. In 1990 the Chateau Comtal was converted into Nottingham Castle for the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" starring Kevin Costner. Then I went to bed early as I had only slept 4 hours the night before. Tonight on my last night here I want to again see the lighted La Cite.
Tomorrow I head for Provence: first to Arles and then Avignon. I stay at a small hotel in Arles and then with my first couchsurfer in Avignon.
I stayed longer at the laundromat because the wifi is better than the one at the Abbaye. Helped a family use the machines as I was helped and then found woman is a writer/poet who loves both Thich Nhat Hanh and Hildegard of Bingen. I just bought her book on Amazon: Burying the Typewriter about life in Romania under the Soviet rule. She says the BBC is going to do a program on her family soon. She went to school in Michigan and lives in Geneva.
